Blueoculus

At blueoculus, our aim is to create designs with a deeper value: simple solutions that are beautiful, functional, and responsibly considered. We believe that design should solve multiple problems gracefully, and if done well, turn even the most ordinary object into something extraordinary. A central part of our approach is to look at how people use and relate to objects. As designers, one of our goals is to provide an alternative to the disposable paradigm by creating products that have lasting qualities.

Another integral part of our design process is the commitment to using efficient production methods. The entire life cycle of the product is considered responsibly from material and manufacturing to its durability. Our current line of products are made exclusively out of aluminum with a singular construction, making them strong, entirely recyclable, and efficient to manufacture.

Life is art. At blueoculus, design is about exploring ideas on multiple dimensions to create solutions that bring joy and a bit of transcendence to the everyday.

Founded by two designers, blueoculus is a product and furniture design company based in San Diego, California, with a studio in Seoul. The two designers met on a retail design project for an international cosmetics company. Beyond a similar design philosophy and a common school connection (they are both Pratt alums), they realized they shared a dream to start a product design company and blueoculus was born.

cardbar

The cardbar was inspired from a need to display and organize cards during the holidays one year. Designed to accommodate many cards, you can easily put in, pull out, and organize your graphic ephemera. With a clean minimal profile and satisfying weight, it sits unassumingly on your desk, shelf or mantle. The base is padded with luxurious microsuede to protect surfaces. The medium and large sizes come with a ruler on the back for good measure. Made partially with recycled aluminum and anodized for a permanent durable finish.
